Leonardo and Josue
Leonardo was born in La Ciudad Colonial in 1981, in a humble home, where his parents were his main teachers. Together with them he learned to be a hard-working person and a fighter. From a very young age he was interested in art. His parents were not artisans, but they took him to visit handicraft fairs, where he discovered his passion for artisanal crafts. As time went by, his interest grew, until one day he decided to ask a local artisan if it was possible for him to teach him some of the techniques. The artisan gladly agreed, and that started his career as a craftsman.

He continued working in the art of jade carving for many years, and began to sell in craft fairs and in the central park of La Antigua Guatemala. There he met Josue, who sold jewelry made in macrame. They decided to join their talent as well as their financial needs. Leonardo taught Josue, and Josue shared all his knowledge with Leonardo.

Since then they have formed an incredible team. Their friendship has strengthened and they have worked hard together; from this work they have managed to fulfill some of their goals.

"Unstoppable, hard-working and constant is how we would describe ourselves. Each day has been a new opportunity to fulfill our dreams. We make a great team and we seek to continue making pieces that please our customers, always working with quality and effort, which I know is reflected in our products," says Leonardo.

Josue says, "Being able to work hand in hand with Novica has been a great opportunity. It is a challenge for us, because we started from scratch. Today we already have our own workshop, which fills us with pride. It motivates us to continue working so that our clients can have quality products, made with a lot of love--love that we put in each piece, along with pride that we are putting the name of our beloved country, Guatemala, in another corner of the world."
