The Jimenez Family obtains the jade from Sierra de las Minas, in Guatemala.
K'abel was a renowned warrior queen whose tomb was found in 2012 in the Maya city of El Peru-Waká, in northwestern Petén, Guatemala. Considered one of the greatest of Maya rulers, K'abel was a military governor of the Wak Kingdom who ruled for at least 20 years with her husband, King K'inich Bahlam. She carried the title of supreme warrior or Kalomt'e, which placed her in a higher position of authority, over her husband.
