Tikal Toucan

In the midst of a dark green forest, a toucan guards the Tikal, the great Maya temple. Zandra Lorena Sajbin creates the image with dark green jade and sterling silver as she crafts the reversible pendant by hand. 'The toucan is now a bird in danger of extinction, so I've become interested in capturing the uniqueness of the toucan in my jewelry designs. It's my way of raising consciousness on the importance of looking after the toucans and their natural habitat.'
