American Black Duck

Denizens of the march and forest, the American black duck dines on tiny shellfish as well as plants and seeds. The dark streaks around the eye are part of its breeding plumage. Mauricio Morales depicts the aquatic bird in a ceramic sculpture and carefully paints it by hand before protecting the colors with a coat of wax. The realistic figurine is signed and identified by the artist.
