Sharing the rich legacy of the ancient Maya, Ruben and Gilda Perez recreate a hieroglyph in jade. It depicts a closed hand with the opposing fingers touching to close a circuit of energy. Named Kej, it represents the four pillars that sustain the earth and sky, and the knowledge of power. The artisans present the pendant on a black waxed cotton cord with a polished silver clasp.
