Traditional Motifs in Chili

Inspired by the traditional dress of women from the city of Tactic, Guatemalan duo Miriam and Debora design this cushion cover with a traditional aesthetic. Local artisans work on traditional telares de cintura, or backstrap looms, to hand-weave the cushion cover of cotton. It features intricate geometric motifs in chili and pale grey, completed around the edges with hand-knotted tassels. At the back, the cover opens with a slit for inserting a cushion.
