Tijax, according to the Maya calendar, is depicted as the point of the warrior's obsidian dagger, symbol of bravery and courage. The animals associated with Tijax are the swordfish, owl and toucan.

'This collection is inspired by a desire to turn a natural catastrophe like the Pacaya volcanic eruptions into something creative,' confide Fernando and David. 'To this end, the Maya glyphs are perfect because they link our past with our present and future. They explore our connection with the cosmos.' Carved of coconut shell, glyph is detailed with a mixture of volcanic ash and crystal resin. The hand-crafted pendant hangs from a sleek leather cord with sterling silver fixtures.
