Peten Inspiration I

Geometric and floral motifs in blue, grey, orange, black and white are the stars of this beautiful set of four placemats from Mirian Otzin of Guatemala. The artisan hand-weaves the placemats from pure cotton threads on a traditional pedal loom. The Guatemalan hand-weaving technique is a cultural and social legacy still observed in many regions of the country, like Peten.
