Rafael and Elvira
Rafael and Elvira, a couple who have worked in the art of jewelry for many years, have formed a family of artisans that learn from each other. With much experience and an impeccable technique, they seek to innovate with each piece that they make, achieving a unique work of great quality.
“My name is Rafael Zurdo. My wife, Elvira Garcia, and I are dedicated to the creation of jewelry made of silver and a variety of precious stones. I entered this marvelous world many years ago. At the beginning, I did not think that this work would give me so many beautiful moments full of happiness. Without a doubt, one of those moments was meeting Elvira. We were very young, but we fell in love at first sight. We met each other a long time ago; I have truly lost count of how many years it has been,” says Rafael between laughs.<br><br>
“We decided to get married, despite knowing that it would be a difficult journey. We decided to embark on this journey together. From the beginning, we have supported each other and have been each other's pillars. Our dreams and goals grew. We have never stopped, despite experiencing difficult economic times.<br><br>
“Time passed agreeably and our family began to grow. With the birth of our sons, we had more strength to carry on. I continued working in jewelry, which has been an art that has impassioned me for a long time. It was an occupation that I learned with other people who were close to me, but little by little I began creating my own pieces through trial and error, discovering new techniques. The world of precious stones attracted my attention and I began to learn on my own. Thanks to this, today I know a lot about these pieces.<br><br>
“I have the fortune that my children also liked this art from a young age. When they were young, they spent time in the workshop in order to see how my pieces were made. Elvira helped me a lot during this process; she guided me through the designs, the combination of colors, and the techniques.”<br><br>
Says Elvira, “Rafael is a marvelous man and an exemplary father. Thanks to him, we all know a lot of jewelry crafting techniques, and my children also dedicate themselves to this art. He has a lot of experience in faceting techniques, which is not very common today.”<br><br>
“We love transmitting all of our abilities in in these pieces of silver, which is a very noble material that allows us to create the most simple to the most complex things, always combined with a touch of beautiful jade,” Rafael adds.
